THE FACTS

Almond Beach Belize is a luxury destination on the south coast of Belize near the small village of Hopkins. We have 25 suites and rooms and share restaurant, trip and management services with our sister resort, Jaguar Reef Lodge.

We average 40 weddings a year, typically small weddings of from 2 – 30 people

Weddings are held on the beach, at the end of our dock under our large Palapa, or, for larger parties staying at the resort, can also be held on on the veranda of our Hummingbird Suite, or on the 40 foot by 15 foot Private Veranda of our Vista Suite.

WHAT MAKES US SPECIAL

We are small enough that a wedding is a special event at our resort, and large enough to get the details right. Our experienced wedding staff ensure that the wedding goes smoothly and helps the Bride and Groom, and family members with all the details that make a wedding perfect.

GETTING MARRIED IN BELIZE

Belize makes it easy for couples to marry in Belize and the marriage certificate is valid world-wide.

You will simply need to show proof of identity, your arrival date in Belize (your passport will be fine) and, if you are divorced or widowed, be able to prove that you are free to marry. Please bring original documents with you.

There are two forms of marriage license application in Belize.

One option is to spend three nights at our resort and then go by car for a fascinating 90 minute drive in to Belmopan, the capital of Belize, where you will process your application. The second alternative is to fly in to Belize on a morning flight and we will pick you up at the International Airport and drive you to Almond Beach via Belmopan so you can pick up your license en route. This can only be done Monday to Friday and you need to check with us before you book as there are many national holidays in Belize when the bureau will be closed!
